“Happiness is your birthright."

- Yogrishi Vishvketu

I have been teaching Hatha Yoga since the beginning of 2021. Mostly online, via Zoom. The form I teach is called Akhanda Yoga. It is a very traditional, authentic form of yoga with deep roots in ancient wisdom.

It was developed by Yogrishi Vishvketu and focuses on a holistic practice including body, mind and soul. The word "Akhanda" means "whole" in Sanskrit and refers to the idea that everything in the universe is inseparably linked.

Each yoga session includes:

  • asanas (postures)
  • yogic philosophy
  • pranayama (breathing exercises)
  • meditation
  • and mantras

The benefits of Akhanda Yoga include improving physical health, reducing stress and anxiety, strengthening mental clarity and a deeper understanding of the self and the world around us.

It is accessable to people of all ages and fitness levels.

On a cognitive level, you might know exactly why you feel anxious, shy, … And yet you can't change your behavior.

The root of the imbalance often is in the nervous system.

Chronic stress and anxiety lead to less flexibility in the nervous system.

The following symptoms may occur:

still being in fight or flight response even though are lying in bed
having trouble to fall and stay asleep
underlying feeling of fear
resting and still worrying
being on the run all the time
having a fuzzy mind

“The breath is unique. It is one of the automatic functions, like heartbeat, but it is the only one that can be consiously controlled. Breath is the most direct and instantanious way to influence the NS.” (The Reconnected)

By incorporating breathwork practices into our daily lives, we can help to reset the nervous system and cultivate a greater sense of ease and well-being.
